Your Privacy is Our Priority

The core philosophy of Session Shepherd is to provide a powerful tool that respects its users and their data. This policy explains what information the extension handles and, more importantly, what it doesn't.

No User Data Collection

Session Shepherd does NOT collect, transmit, or handle ANY user data.

All session information (tab URLs and titles) is stored exclusively on your local computer using Chrome's local storage. This data never leaves your device. We, the developers, have no access to your browsing sessions, history, or any other information. We do not collect, process, transmit, or sell any user data whatsoever.

The Bottom Line

Session Shepherd is designed to be 100% private. All of your data is stored locally on your own computer and is never sent to any external server. We cannot see, access, or sell your session data. Period.

What Information is Stored Locally (Not Collected)

Important: Session Shepherd does NOT collect or transmit any data. However, to perform its core function, the extension stores information locally on your device about the browser tabs you choose to save in a session.

Local Storage Only

When you explicitly save tabs into a session, the extension stores the URL (web address) and title of each tab locally on your device only. This information is stored using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API and remains on your computer. This falls under the Chrome Web Store's definition of "Web history" but isnever collected, transmitted, or sent anywhere.

Data Handling and Storage

Session Shepherd does NOT collect, process, or transmit any user data. Here's how the extension works:

Local Storage Only

All session data (the list of URLs and titles you save) is stored exclusively on your local device using Chrome's standard chrome.storage.local API. This data remains on your computer and is never transmitted anywhere.

No Data Collection or Transmission

Session Shepherd does not collect, transmit, upload, or send any data to any external server, database, third party, or the developers. We have zero access to your browsing data. No analytics, no tracking, no data collection of any kind.

Permissions Justification

Session Shepherd requests a few permissions to function correctly. Here's why we need them:

tabs

Required to read the URLs, titles, and favicons of your open tabs so you can save them into a session.

storage

Required to save your sessions on your local computer.

contextMenus

Used to provide a convenient right-click shortcut to open the Session Shepherd dashboard.

<all_urls>Host Permission

This permission is required only to display the small website icon (favicon) next to each saved tab in your session list. Without it, the extension cannot load these images. We do not use this permission to read content from any websites.

Explicit Data Collection Statement

Session Shepherd does NOT collect, process, transmit, or handle ANY user data whatsoever. All data remains stored locally on your device. We do not collect analytics, telemetry, usage statistics, or any other form of user information.

Children's Privacy

Session Shepherd does not collect any data from any users, including children under the age of 13. Since no data collection occurs, there is no personally identifiable information collected from anyone.
