Domi Ops

The household hub for homeschool families: school, health, and the rest of the house in one place.

What it is

Domi Ops puts a real school record next to the family calendar, chores, and medications. It replaces the planner, the grade spreadsheet, the pill box, and the chore whiteboard with one login and one household.

It ships two ways from the same codebase: a managed cloud at domi-ops.com, or self-hosted from the open-source repo under the MIT license.

Homeschool

  • A gradebook with weighted categories, tracked across the whole year
  • In-app tests that grade themselves, with an override on any answer
  • Attendance by tapping the days school happened, hours logged as you go, and a printable transcript on your own grading scale
  • Google Docs handed out as tests, with a separate copy back for each student
  • Assignments that show up on the family calendar

Health

Medications, appointments, and vitals for everyone in the house, shared with exactly who you choose. Medication details are encrypted at rest. Domi Ops is a household tool, not a medical record system, and it makes no HIPAA claims.

Medications can also sync one way into MyAllyFile, so a family’s emergency profile stays current without double entry.

And the rest of the house

Calendar with Google sync, chores and karma, shopping lists grouped by aisle, expenses and budgets, markdown notes, and a shared household Drive. Modules switch on per household, and it installs as a PWA with optional Web Push.

Self-hosting

The goal is a minimal setup: Docker Compose, one Postgres, sensible defaults. Pre-built images are published to GHCR and pull without a login.

Stack

A Turborepo monorepo: Next.js 15 for web, Hono for the API, BullMQ workers for calendar sync and reminders, and Drizzle on PostgreSQL.
