Case study
MyAllyFile
Emergency medical information that responders can reach in seconds, without an account.
What it is
MyAllyFile is a free emergency medical profile with a QR code. Any phone camera opens it, with no app and no account for the person scanning, and your emergency contacts are notified. The core profile is free, and it works in the browser or installs as a PWA.
The QR code points to a PIN-gated page rather than to your medical data, so you choose what a responder can see.
It is live at myallyfile.com.
What a responder sees
A responder who scans the code sees the profile the owner chose to share, in English or Spanish, with no sign-up. The profile below uses sample data.
Works with Domi Ops
If you run your household on Domi Ops Cloud, you can link a profile and your medications copy across whenever they change. Sync is one way, from Domi Ops to MyAllyFile, nothing is read back, and unlinking removes the synced medications. It is included with the Plus and Pro plans.
What it does
- Medical profile with server-side encryption of sensitive fields
- Public emergency access via QR code and PIN, no account required for the responder
- Emergency notifications to contacts over SMS (Twilio) and email (Resend)
- Plus and Pro subscriptions through Stripe
- Account linking, recovery, and deletion flows, because health data deserves a real exit
- A blog with markdown content
Why a PWA
Health apps run into heavy classification, review, and compliance friction in the Apple and Google stores. A web-first PWA with Stripe checkout on the web keeps shipping fast and lets people install straight from the browser.
Stack
Vite, React, and TypeScript with TanStack Query and Tailwind v4 on the front. Firebase (Firestore, Auth, Functions, Storage, Hosting) behind it, deployed through GitHub Actions.
